retro_icontestA very special community we're honoring this time: all icons are made anonymously and there is a guessing round at the end! I hope you'll enjoy it! Please check the rules, they're a little different this time.

I replaced two of the fire inspiration icons with icons made (and guessed) during that challenge, because the original post didn't have enough examples for ginger+fire. Everything else is from the original post.

There are 2 levels of difficulty, you can choose which you want to do.
I've provided some caps behind the cut you can use, but you can use your own if you wish.
LEVEL 1: GINGERS

*Your subjects need to be ginger, I just couldn't find any examples of both.

ORIGINAL RULES - MANDATORY THIS TIME
• You can make as many icons as you want
• Comment with your icons to this post anon or under your username. I won't reveal your name anyway.
• Icons will be randomized for the compilation post, so you don't have to make different comments if you make more than one icon
• Icons must adhere to LJ standards (60kb or under, 100x100px, png/jpeg/gif)
• Please upload your icons to an anonymous icon host like imgur or squidge.org (if you don't, I will re-upload for you)
• You can mix levels: some icons that fit level 1 (ginger subjects) and some that fit level 2 (ginger + fire)
• Fake-coloring the hair of your subjects to make them ginger is allowed!
NEW RETRO_ICONTEST RULES - also mandatory
-> minimum 1 icon. (or you can just wait for the guessing week in September and guess without making any icons. :) )
-> submit your icons as a comment to this post. Comments are screened. Anonymous comments are enabled. Please do not post your icons as a new post this time!
-> you'll make it more fun for me if you submit your icons anonymously, because that means I'll be able to join in with the guessing at the end. Otherwise I won't participate in the guessing.
TACTICAL HINTS
-> fandom: as the challenge rules say, you can use your own caps, but consider that your choice of fandom can be a hint as to your identity. Using the provided caps for some of your icons will make them harder to guess.
-> style: you are absolutely allowed to try to imitate someone else's style in order to throw off the guessers
-> guessing: I'll post the guessing rules with the guessing post at the end of the four weeks. Short summary: everyone can guess, you don't have to have made icons. Guesses can also be made anonymously. You don't have to reveal which icons you've made.
This round is a five-week round. The "making" part will last for four weeks. The last week will be guessing time! The guessing post will serve as the roundup post this time.
Deadline for submitting your icons: Friday, September 13th 2024 your end-of-day
Guessing will take place from September 13th to 20th.
