+ Of course the actual post got swallowed before I found internet again. Weather absolute shit, Internet shit, boat very warm, zero fish, zero internet in my cabin with the new setup. I can't be fucking bothered to write it up again.

+ One of the things open in my tabs was the latest friending meme at

friending_memes, and maybe time without internet was a good thing there. Came to the conclusion that actually, my circle is pretty damn great and I don't feel I get around to commenting as often as I'd like. EDIT: Silent Film festival in Copenhagen! Lots of good stuff!

Managed to track down another book from the Veidt shelves (speaking of that nice pic of him posing by his bookshelf as if he's deciding on what he should read).

It's Gábor Vaszary's Monpti. Which is the age-old tale of boy meets girl, girl says she's rich while she's actually poor, boy dumps girl, girl gets hit by a car and dies, boy is sad.

This man has this and Silone's Bread and Wine on his shelves. The duality.

And speaking of Connie, you can now watch Die Große Sehnsucht (1930) on the Digitaler Lesesaal. Thank you, Bundesarchiv! Since Herr Veidt plays himself in this, it's a great showing of his persona at the time (read that I wrote persona and not person).

The ever-elusive Uncle Walt short by Robert Swarthe has been found. It's not good, as many elusive and mystical pieces of ~ lost media ~ are.

This was a rough week, but overall...positive?

Dad went ahead for the cardioversion and it WORKED--his heart is back in rhythm! Now we figure out the other heart stuff and see if he's still on for his knee replacement in a month.

I stayed slow and sluggish through, basically, this past Sunday. I drove up to the fam on Friday and napped, and every day until I came home Wednesday. I had planned to leave Tuesday and get in a half day at work, but I was too worn out. So I was going to leave in the late afternoon and nope, I had to nap. After which I felt much better, and have stayed mostly much better since.

I have Thursday mornings off, but I have a daily 10am alarm to remind me to drink water which works as an alarm so I don't sleep too late on non-work days. Alas, it went off in silent mode?! and I woke up 45 minutes later. I am super hoping this does not happen again!!

After being meh about the return of 9-1-1 last week, it ended up being one of my favorite episodes in the whole season! Go figure. The characters were written like they liked each other again, which is a low bar, but hey. I'll take it. Buck dated and invited over a man and a woman (different times), and it was great to see him happy and having fun. And also name dropping Tommy, in that he is still baking and hasn't had anything real since they broke up. I try not to hope, but I really do want Tommy back and with Buck. I wonder if tonight will be another good one.

I'm intrigued by the possibilities of this season on The Pitt, and there's already been fun moments. I'll probably watch it and 9-1-1 tomorrow, since I'm off. YAY.

I'm working Saturday, but we're off Monday for MLK and I am excited to have a stretch of days in my apartment! I have a lot of resetting and unpacking and tidying I want to do and, God help me, one last (potentially contentious) convention meeting to go to. E and I brainstormed ways to prepare and a plan for interacting, and I'm going to have reiki beforehand--that always resets my brain and emotions!

Plus there's DnD, Candy Hearts to noodle on, and fandom_empire is back, and now I get to play with Heated Rivalry things, too! It's fun having pretty new fandoms.

I'm about halfway through the first book in the book series, Game Changers, and basically enjoying it. I can absolutely map most of the characters to their MCU counterpart, and her writing style is 100% Ao3 house style, which isn't my preferred novel writing style. But it is absolutely fun and I'm very excited to get to Shane and Ilya in the next book!

I am feeling caught up and on the ball at work tonight, which hasn't happened in what feels like ages. So I will end on that happy note.

I finished Clariel by Garth Nix. It was fine, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped. I was much more interested in the potential story a after the story than the one that was, you know, in the actual book. Oh well.
Ficwise, I've been reading a lot of NutHong and JunDylan fics, with a sprinkling of other things including more Yuletide fics.

Watching

The roommate and I finished Cherry Magic. It was great! Very sweet and I enjoyed TayNew and JuniorMark a lot. I did wish there was a bit more of the side pairing's relationship, but what we did get was good.
The roommate and I started watching Ossan's Love. Even sillier than I expected, especially Earth's character! I was getting a bit of second hand embarrassment tbh, but I'll push through and hope that passes.
The roommate, best friend, and I watched the latest episode of Goddess Bless You From Death. I feel a little like we're getting edged for shit really going down, but it's still great. I also was proved right for a theory I voiced in like the second episode, so very happy about that lol

The roommate, best friend, and I watched the latest episodes of Dare You to Death. Things are definitely picking up! Like, wow, really picking up. I was not expecting them to kiss in the third episode, but here we are. Not that I'm complaining!
The roommate, best friend, and I finished ThamePo Heart That Skips a Beat. Loved it once again! The best friend did as well, which I'm very happy about. Made me more excited to see everyone's upcoming shows this year.
The roommate, best friend, and I started watching 4 Minutes. I'm not sure what I expected from this series, but it's definitely a lot darker than I'd assumed it'd be. In some ways similar vibes to Dead Friend Forever, which I don't love, but I am liking it more than that so far. The allure of Bible is at least strong enough to get me through, especially since it's a shorter series.
The roommate and I went to see Labyrinth in theaters for the 40th anniversary. It was so nice seeing it on the big screen for the first time! Love this movie.

Listening

T-pop this week has been a lot of Perses after seeing them on Idol Energy. They've got a different vibe than what I'm used to, but I'm enjoying them.
Caught up on some more Ouija Broads episodes.

Writing

I wrote a fic for a Just the Tip flash exchange.
I started writing an OhmLeng fic after waking up yesterday being suddenly very sad about them lol

Learning

New category! Because I am trying to do more active learning of things this year and maybe this will be good incentive to keep that up.
Did some more of Pimsleur's Thai. Still need to do more to see if I like it and it's working, but the second lesson was definitely easier than the first. To be fair, it's covered several words/phrases I already know, so we'll see if that continues as it goes on.
