This challenge was originally posted to a_mused in May 2012 here .

I had to replace several of the inspiration icons and leave out one larger texture because the links were broken. I took fitting inspiration icons from other challenge posts in the same comm. Apart from those - I hope, minor - changes, I tried to preserve the original post.

Mode	Fixed	the element in its most intense form, associated with stability and strength.

Traditional definitions	Bestial	the signs symbolised by four-footed animals. These can lack in social graces and sometimes indicate coarseness and a poor appreciation for 'niceties' and polite manners. They can also be a little inarticulate, caring more about making their point, than the elegance of the style in which it is made.

This comm generally runs from mid-month to mid-month every month, always ending on Fridays. There is no voting. I will make a roundup post containing up to 5 icons per person after every challenge.

Do the icons have to fulfill all the criteria in one icon , like each icon has to fulfill all 3 criteria , or any one ?

There are four possibilities mentioned under Standard Challenges and Herculean Challenge. Either you pick *one* of the criteria (standard), then all your icons have to fit that one thing. Or you pick the Herculean Challenge, then all your icons have to fit the Spring and Negative Space (but not the character criteria).

The original rules also stated that *all icons* have to fit the same challenge.

I'm honestly not planning on sticking to that 'all the same' part, myself. I am going to make some icons that fit Negative Space, and some for Spring, and some for characters that lack in social graces. Maybe I'll manage one that fits all three, but certainly not the whole set.

Thank you so much for taking the time to swiftly answer in such detail. That gleams it all up. I'm gonna do the same then . I'll probably mix and match the themes , like negative space + spring , negative space + socially awkward etc.
