This challenge was originally posted to
shire_icontest in July 2014 here. Thank you so much to
luminousdaze for allowing us to use it!
If you yourself are a mod of an (old, closed) comm, and you'd like to allow us to revisit some of your challenges, let me know! I'm currently in the process of PMing mods of older comms, but it'll take a while. All the comms we currently have permission for are listed in the masterlist here.

For this challenge icons should be made from screen caps that show one of two different kinds of shots: a low angle shot or a high angle shot.
High & low angle shots are explained fully at this page https://filmustage.com/blog/camera-angles-explained/* or you can just look at the caps below.
As you can see, this isn't an icon-making technique, low angle & high angle images must be based on the angle used by the photographer, so this challenge will be a sort of scavenger hunt unless you use the provided images.
For this challenge, icons don't need to use extreme low or high angle shots, all that matters is that the image is NOT clearly an eye level shot like this one:
Eye level shot

*In these movies many of the low & high angle shots are due to characters height differences, so they may technically be called POV shots but for this challenge we only need to think about the angle (low or high). I included many screen caps below!

NEW RETRO_ICONTEST RULES - mandatory
Consider the original challenge rules and try to stick to them in spirit.
-> the original comm only allowed LOTR and related fandoms - this restriction does not apply to retro_icontest. Any fandom (stock, etc.) is allowed.
-> we're keeping the "don't use one image more than three times" rule.
-> you may enter as many icons as you like. minimum 1 icon.
-> submit your icons as a new entry into the community. if there are more than five, put the rest under a cut or a link to your unlocked journal post. tag your post with round number and your username (or ask me to tag it for you).
-> submit the URLs along with your icons. I'll only put the first five per person into the roundup post. Either you only list five, or I'll take the first five.
-> make an effort to leave positive feedback on other participants' posts. <3
-> read the full rules here in our userinfo.
Each challenge will run for roundabout four weeks. There is no voting. I will make a roundup post containing up to 5 icons per person after every challenge. The general plan is to go from mid-month to mid-month every month.
Deadline for round #10: Friday, January 12th 2024 your end-of-day

Date: 2024-01-13 12:44 am (UTC)You're welcome. :) I'm going to enter at least one tonight, it's still Friday where I'm at for about seven hours. By the way I finally figured out the comm banner says the word pixel. I thought it was random decorative letters all this time. 😄

I actually blended the logo together from logos of old icon challenge comms. The "pixel" part's from https://paintedpixels.livejournal.com/profile
