Our last round was comparatively easy, this one is a lot more restrictive if you stick to the original rules. I hope you enjoy it!

( box #2 )
ORIGINAL RULES - for reference only
See the 'quick summary' section under the cut above, it's all there. In case it's not clear: for each option, you have to make five icons, one for each item. E.g. for option1, the screencaps, you have to use all caps, one for each icon. For option 2, the technical themes, you have to use all themes, one for each icon. Etc.
You're not supposed to mix the options, but you can make more than one set: five for one option, five for another, five sets per week.
NEW RETRO_ICONTEST RULES - mandatory
Consider the original challenge rules and try to stick to them in spirit. Our new rules are less strict, but you may find it fun to try and meet the original requirements, e.g. regarding specific fandoms or other restrictions - in this case, the 'don't mix the options' rule.
[The textures were not attributed to their makers in the original post, so I also don't know who made them. I'm sorry.]
+ you may enter as many icons as you like. minimum 1 icon.
+ if you make more than one set, you may post them as separate entries or all in one. this also means you can mix and match the options if you prefer. e.g. you can enter three icons, one for a palette color, one for a cap, one for a movie poster - or any other combination.
+ there is no voting.
+ submit your icons as a new entry into the community. if there are more than five, put the rest under a cut or a link to your unlocked journal post. tag your post with round number and your username (or ask me to tag it for you).
+ submit the URLs along with your icons. I'll only put the first five per person into the roundup post. Either you only list five, or I'll take the first five.
+ make an effort to leave positive feedback on other participants' posts. <3
+ read the full rules
here in our userinfo.
This comm generally runs from mid-month to mid-month every month, always ending on Fridays. There is no voting. I will make a roundup post containing up to 5 icons per person after every challenge. This time, if a lot of people make more than one set, I may consider putting more into the roundup post, too. We'll see how it goes.
Deadline for round #21: Friday, December 13th 2024 your end-of-day
